Hello everyone! Happy Feast of The Body and Blood of Christ or as we normally call it “Corpus Christi Sunday.” If these were normal days, I would be reminding you of our Corpus Christi Procession around the church. We did it last year and I had the mind to ask a number of parishioners to set up altars in front of their homes so that we could stop at different stations and have benediction at each place. We would then wind up in the church for the final benediction and prayers. But alas! We might consider doing this another time or wait till next year’s feast.
I want to wish our 8th grade graduates from IHM grammar school every happiness. I have enjoyed getting to know them. And for all those who have graduated from your grammar schools, high schools and colleges. God bless you in a special way for all the difficulties you have been through these days. May you be strengthened in the love of God all your days.
We are drawing near to Deacon Luis Silva’s Ordination (Invitation below) on Friday, June 26 at St Patrick’s Cathedral at 9AM. While I think numbers will be restricted at the Cathedral, the Mass will be livestreamed and you may want to join in on the Ordination Mass. If you have never seen one before, the Ordination Mass is remarkably beautiful for everyone. We plan to have Fr Luis’s first public Mass here at IHM on Sunday, June 28 at 3PM. Again, we will work out the details and I will keep you posted. In the meantime, please pray for Deacon Luis and for his vocation to the priesthood. He has made these pandemic days a lot lighter for me here at IHM. A real blessing! I know he will be a fantastic priest!
