Hello everyone. I hope you are well and keeping safe. May I first begin by thanking you for your supreme generosity in these tough days. So many of you have sent “catch-up” donations of your regular weekly offerings. Last week, for instance, we did far better than last year! Way better! Thanks so much. I am also grateful for all the donations to the Cardinal’s Appeal. We haven’t reached our goal of $213,000 yet but I am happy to see that we have more donors than last year and thus far we have $137,480 pledged to the Appeal which is so much better than last year. If we could get there to our goal, that would be great. But once again, I am so grateful.
The Renew and Rebuild core group met to discuss the initiatives that you put in place for the capital campaign. Would you mind me asking if you could stay faithful to your pledges as so many of you have already done so. We had two major assessments done, one inside the church and the other outside the buildings of the rectory, the church and the House of Prayer. We have to soon decide what are the priorities such as roof repair, lighting system, carpet removal, etc. Again, thank you for your generosity, I look forward to keeping you posted!
This weekend, Deacon Luis Silva was supposed to be ordained to the priesthood. He now awaits a new date. Many of you have come to know him when he visits and stays at IHM. He was in my former parish for a year. He has been with us during this pandemic and is great company to us old priests! We look forward to his ordination and to his first Mass here at IHM. Please keep him in your prayers.
Have a good week! Let’s hope that things start turning around for the better very soon.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us!
