A blessed Father's Day to all! What a perfect weekend to celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, to reflect on our Heavenly Father and to ask for blessings upon our fathers here below or for their eternal peace.

Congratulations to our IHM School Class of 2025! It was a joy to lead you in Religion class most Wednesdays of this year and to celebrate your graduation yesterday! May the Lord Jesus bless your next chapter in high school and our Blessed Mother intercede to keep you close to her Son all the days of your lives.
It was a joy and precious memories to have the Pre-K and Kindergarten graduations this past week. I will certainly miss these special celebrations in my next assignment.

I am grateful to all of the volunteers who made the Tag Sale for our Social ministries such a success - once I review the list, I look forward to thanking the volunteers by name!
For the weekend after Trinity Sunday, the Church asks us to express our belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist by a public procession. We will hold our Eucharistic Procession on Saturday, June 21st after a brief 5:30pm Mass. We will walk on mostly level ground for 20-30 minutes and end at the outside statue of the Blessed Mother in the north (school) parish lot. Please RSVP if you wish to have pizza and water afterwards. For all First Communicants, please join us by wearing your special outfits from you big day and we will place you in a special place of the procession.
All graduates of high school, college and university will be blessed in the middle of Mass. Come in cap and gown if you wish!

What is the Parish Council?
The Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Council serves as a consultative body of the parish whose responsibility is to advise and assist the pastor in matters relating to the parish. This includes promoting lay participation in the activities of the parish, evaluating the goals and needs of the parish, developing and recommending ways to address those needs, and finally developing and maintaining a two-way communication between the Council and the larger Parish community. Council members will also be expected to take a leadership role in the various Parish Council events as well as in the particular area of Parish life they are interested in or involved in already.

In observance of Father's Day - Father's Day Spiritual Bouquet Envelopes are available at the entrances of the Church and are also included in your packets.
A good father is an immeasurable gift and something our world is in need of today. Join us in praying for all fathers this Father's Day...
- For our fathers on earth—that God protects and blesses them with the strength necessary to live their vocation and role as a father well
- For our fathers who have passed from this life—that they are living in the presence of Jesus in heaven.
- For our priests, Cardinal Archbishop, and Holy Father — that Jesus blesses them with joy and courage to fully live out their vocation as spiritual fathers to their flock.
- For all those who play a fatherly role in our lives—that St. Joseph helps them to lead, instruct, and live as examples of holy men
Whether you have a beautiful or a broken relationship with your own biological or adoptive father (or any father figures in your life), you can always turn to God our Father, and to St. Joseph, the head of the Holy Family for comfort and guidance throughout your life.
If you're a father in any capacity, ask St. Joseph to guide you in your role. He was the foster father of Jesus Christ—he raised the Savior of the world! There's no better example of an earthly father than him!
The position of St. Joseph as husband and foster father gives witness to the dignity of fatherhood.
IHM Library Summer Loaning Day
The IHM Library Summer Loaning Day is June 14th before and after the Vigil Liturgy and Sunday, June 15th after the 7:30AM Liturgy and before and after all the other Masses. Tables will be set up outside with plenty of children’s books available for summer use as well as biblical, theology and spiritual literature for all. The weather is predicted to be in the 80’s with a little cloud cover to block the intense sun and refreshments will be provided for family members so others can browse through our collection of books.
A similar weekend in September will be arranged for the return of borrowed books, which can also be returned to the Rectory as well. Visit the Library Sunday to see the complete collection of books available.

IHM annual Baby Bottle Drive to support those in crisis pregnancies began Mother's Day weekend and runs through Father's Day. Join us for a Baby Bottle Drive to support Gianna's House Pregnancy Care Center in Brewster.
Your small act of kindness can make an enormous difference in providing comfort and care to moms who need it most. Gianna’s House is a Catholic pro-life pregnancy resource center helping women experiencing unexpected pregnancies to break down the obstacles they face so they can choose life for their babies.
Please remember to return your filled baby bottles for Gianna’s House Pregnancy Resource Center Sunday, June 15th, Father’s Day. Your small act of kindness can make an enormous difference in providing comfort and care to moms who need it most.

Sunday, June 15 | Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity | John 16:12–15
Friends, today’s Gospel declares that when the Spirit comes, he will guide us into all truth. There is a story I’ve heard about Jean-Luc Marion that, if it isn’t true, should be. In the midst of a lively lecture on Déscartes, a student asked a pointed question about God. Marion looked at her and said, “Go to Sunday Mass for a year and then return and ask me that question again.”
Marion’s response was not just a clever one-liner. If true knowledge of God depends upon immersion in the Holy Spirit, then that knowledge is a function of an entire form of life, involving prayer, self-denial, the corporal and spiritual works of mercy, and the forgiveness of one’s enemies. We don’t think our way to an understanding of God so much as we live our way to it.
Thomas Aquinas always said that he owed his theology far more to the persistence of his prayer than to the acuity of his mind. His penetration of the divine mystery flowed from his life in the Holy Spirit. And so today we pray, “Come, Holy Spirit, come!”

From daily prayer and weekly Mass to acts of service and meaningful classroom experiences, our children are being formed as thoughtful, faithful young leaders.
We are especially proud of our 8th Grade graduates, the Class of 2025, who have earned over $1.9 million in merit-based scholarships to Catholic and private high schools. Their academic success, character, and leadership reflect the strength of our community and the quality of Catholic education at IHM.
I would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Monsignor Sweeney for his spiritual guidance and unwavering support as our pastor, and to Mr. Mendoza for his presence in our classrooms and his work with our altar servers this year—it has been a blessing to have him actively involved in the spiritual lives of our students.

HSOR Annual Tee-Shirt Giveaway
The Annual Tee-Shirt Giveaway is a tradition at HSOR where our seniors design the Tee Shirts with a meaningful Bible verse and image that reflects their experience in the HSOR community. It is a fun evening where our students share what the year at HSOR has given them.
The IHM High School of Religion (HSOR) welcomes all high school students every Wednesday from 7:30-9:00PM from September to June in the Lower Church Hall.
HSOR offers a fun and relaxing faith community with service projects, Prayer & Pizza, Game Nights, Christmas party, sacraments, Tee Shirt Giveaway, lively discussions, interesting speakers, Open Gym, Faith on Film, pizza and delicious donuts.

Looking for more volunteers to cook for the HOPE Community Supper Program. The need is greater than ever. Cooking is done at home and delivered to the Church, it is then picked up and delivered to HOPE Community Services in New Rochelle (www.hopecommunityservices.org).
- Timing: Held every third Friday, and also the occasional 5th Tuesday of the month. NEXT HOPE SOUP KITCHEN Drop off: Friday, June 20th by 11:00AM – if you have perishable food and can bring it close to 11:00am, please do so.

2025 Public Square Rosary Rally
You are invited to the Public Square Rosary Rally on Saturday, June 28th at 12:00 noon. It will take place in the North Parking lot of IHM Church (by the Grotto). This year as we pray Our Lady’s Rosary and other prayers in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and we invoke her blessings on marriage and the family and for peace in America and in the world. This Rally is one of 20,000 rosary rallies, organized by America Needs Fatima, that will take place all over the United States. Please make an effort to attend. The generosity of the IHM family has been overwhelming and, as a result, the recent Midnight Runs have been a wonderful success!! Our next two Runs will be during the warmer weather and we are targeting the following to replenish our inventory:
- Men's jeans waist sizes 30-36 and all lengths;
- Sweatpants sized small, medium, large, and extra large;
- Men's sneakers sizes 9 thru 13;
- Women's sneakers sizes 7 thru 9;
- Men's tee and golf shirts, especially large and XL;
- Women's tee shirts mostly large and XL
- Men's shorts, waist sizes 30-38
- Women's shorts and joggers mostly large and XL
- Rain ponchos, baseball caps and backpacks
We are also grateful to receive packages of new/unopened underwear and socks for both men and women. In addition, small sizes of toiletry items such as shampoo, body wash, mouthwash, toothpaste, etc. are always needed!!

IHM Jubilee Parish Pilgrimage to Italy
October 9 - 18, 2025
The itinerary features six nights in Rome and two nights in Assisi, with a day-trip to Loreto built in as well. Daily Mass – the cornerstone of each day – will be complemented by a rich Catholic touring program designed to bring the pilgrims face to face with the great saints, martyrs, miracles and cultural heritage of Roman Catholicism. Highlights include St. Peter’s Basilica, the Papal Basilicas, the Catacombs, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon, the Papal Audience in St. Peter’s Square and many incredible saints, churches, basilicas and holy sites throughout Italy.
Roundtrip airfare (see FAQ section below for more information) and beautiful four-star hotels have been arranged. A ProRome tour manager will accompany the group throughout the course of the trip, and private bus transportation, Catholic tour guides, all tours and tickets, daily breakfast and either daily lunch or dinner are included in the price.

Holy Communion for those with Gluten Sensitivities
For any who have sensitivities to Gluten, know that Low Gluten hosts (containing less than 0.002% gluten, <20ppm, fully in accord with Church Canon Law) are available for receiving our Lord in Holy Communion. For those unable to have any gluten, we are happy to offer Holy Communion from a separate Chalice. Please speak with a priest before Mass.

Prayer Groups:
- IHM Centering Prayer Group: The Centering Prayer Group meets on Wednesdays at 10:00AM in the Church Library. Newcomers are always welcome. Meetings last around 45-60 minutes. The format includes: 20 minutes of Centering Prayer (a silent prayer form in the Christian contemplative tradition in which we seek to open our minds and hearts to the Divine Life within), Lectio Divina (a prayerful reading of Scripture) and a brief discussion. - Charismatic Morning of Renewal Meeting at the House of Prayer: This group meets on Thursdays after the 9:00AM parish Mass - Morning Prayer, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with Intercessory Prayer and a discussion of the Scripture Readings for the coming Sunday.
- IHM Women's Prayer Group: The Prayer Group holds weekly prayer gatherings for women Thursdays from 7:00-8:00PM in the Church Library. For more information, please contact the Rectory (914-723-0276 or ihmchurch@ihmscarsdale.org).
Adult Faith Formation:
- IHM Bible Discussion Group: The IHM Bible Discussion Group has concluded the reading of the Book of Revelation and will resume the Scripture discussion group in the Fall. Becoming Catholic & Catholics completing their Sacraments: The OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults - formerly RCIA) is a process of initiation into the Catholic Community of Faith for persons who are experiencing a conversion in their lives and seeking either Christian baptism in the Catholic Church or full Communion with the Catholic Church and completion of the Sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation. Religious Education: On the day of your child's/children's Baptism, the Church pledged to you, the parents, our assistance in raising them in the practice of the faith to keep God's commandments as Jesus taught us, by loving God and our neighbor. Here at Immaculate Heart of Mary, our Religious Education Program is part of this integral formation in the faith that would include daily prayer at home, family participation in Sunday Mass (and on Holy Days of Obligation), periodic Confession, and the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy flowing out from your dinner table. The goal is to come to know Jesus in and through the Church, to know, understand and be able to explain our Catholic faith, and to live the life of Jesus through faith, hope and charity. School: Rooted in the mission Jesus Christ gave to the Church to go out to the world to preach, to sanctify and to shepherd souls, IHM School seeks to work with parents in forming their children in the faith and educating them for life in the world by faithfully and charitable teaching Jesus Christ and the two-fold command to love God and our neighbor, to immerse the students in the sacramental life of the Church so that they may know of God's presence in their lives and come to unite their lives for the glory of God, and to help lead and guide them on their journey through life to heaven by building up the virtues our faith has received from the Apostles. Social Ministries: IHM parish is involved in many social ministries, including Midnight Runs into Manhattan to bring food and clothing to the homeless; a food pantry and support of HOPE Community Services; annual Christmas Giving Tree, Baby Shower donations, support of mothers in crisis pregnancies, and bereavement assistance, among other needs. - The Serra Club of the Bronx and Westchester will be holding its monthly meeting on June 25th at 12 noon, at the Eastwood Manor (3371 Eastchester Road, Bronx). The guest speaker is Rev. Fr. - The Church of St. John the Evangelist and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church of White Plains will hold its annual “Festa Italiana” on July 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th, on the Church grounds of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 92 South Lexington Avenue, White Plains. Thurs. & Fri. 6PM-11PM, Sat. 5PM- 11PM and Sun. 3PM-9PM. Our “Festa Italiana” features live Italian and American music and entertainment, great Italian foods & desserts, American fare and much more. Admission and entertainment are free. Worshipers in the procession will assemble in front of OLMC Church at 12:30PM on Sunday, July 13th. The procession will begin at 1PM followed by the celebration of Holy Mass at 2PM at OLMC.
