My dear friends,
This weekend, we reflect on Christ's Transfiguration, where Jesus revealed His divine glory to strengthen His Apostles for the trials ahead. As we continue our Lenten journey, may we keep our eyes fixed on Christ’s glory, drawing courage and perseverance from Him.
This evening, we joyfully welcome back Monsignor Jack Ferry, IHM's pastor from 2006 to 2018, who will concelebrate Mass. Now residing at the priests’ retirement residence in Riverdale, he looks forward to reconnecting with parishioners.
A special thank you to Karen Pelella for once again coordinating our parish Fish Fry dinners, this year assisted by our local Keogh Council of the Knights of Columbus. 2 more remain!
Join us as IHM marches in the Eastchester Saint Patrick’s Parade this Sunday, March 16th at 3:00 p.m. A shuttle from Lake Isle runs from 12:45 to 2:45 p.m., dropping us near Immaculate Conception in Tuckahoe, where the parade starts.
St. Patrick’s Day, a solemnity in our Archdiocese, falls this Monday. IHM's rectory office will be closed on Monday.
Also on Sunday, Troop 2 Scouts will hold an Eagle Scout Court of Honor in the lower church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We are especially grateful to one of the recipients, Luis Marquez, who digitized our parish library catalog, now accessible on our website. The library is open Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Congratulations, Luis!
For those interested in a Jubilee Year pilgrimage to Rome with me, including Assisi and Loreto, from October 9/10 to October 18/19, please contact the rectory as soon as possible.
Our parish Young Adult Group (ages 18-25) will host an Hour of Eucharistic Adoration and Praise this Thursday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel. All are welcome even beyond the parish!
Thank you to our Girl Scouts and to all of the parent and adult leaders, in particular for Donna Marie Caro and Gina Becker for all they did to facilitate our first Girl Scout Sunday since before the pandemic!
As we approach the Solemnity of St. Joseph, Husband of Mary, on March 19th, may we turn to him as a model of faithfulness.
