My dear friends,
May we never underestimate what the power and life of Jesus Christ can do in our lives, no matter the depths of our suffering - more than we can ever hope or imagine!
Social media is also passing along great clips of some of the amazing array of presenters at the Catholic gathering!
A fruit of the Eucharistic Revival is to walk with a person who has been away from the practice of the faith with the invitation to return to the source of life and grace in Jesus' Real Presence. Another good way may be to invite someone (baptized or not) to the Catholic faith through our parish's process of helping them explore the Church called RCIA (or now properly called the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults).

Thank you for welcoming parishioner Catherine Dwyer last weekend, her message of the Fellowship of Catholic University Students and how to partner with her in her upcoming mission in August (spiritually and financially). I will post her information below, as I did last week, in case you would like more information from Catherine.
"May God who has begun the good work in her bring it to fulfillment!"
The Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy can become more and more a part of our daily and weekly lives this summer. Perhaps two spiritual works that are particularly needed in times of tragedy (IHM just buried in Christian hope a 16 year-old young man, Aidan):
To comfort the afflicted.
To pray for the living and the dead.
I am moved this week at the love and outpouring of support for the Galeano family as well as their strength and faith in this time. Please pray for Aidan's repose and for his mother, father, sister, grandparents and friends, classmates and teammates.
Saint Mark's Gospel is the shortest of the four Gospels. The Gospel this Sunday is the lead up to Jesus performing the miracle of the loaves, but is then cut short so that next week and for a total of five Sundays we can hear a more lengthy exposition of the sign (miracle) Jesus did to draw us to faith that He is the Bread of Life come down from Heaven and that He intends to give us His flesh and blood for the life of the world and our resurrection! This Sunday's Gospel ends: "and He began to teach them many things." We will hear those many things in the following five Sundays!
This weekend, Fr. Thumma will celebrate the 5:30pm Vigil Mass and the 12noon Sunday Mass. Fr. Raja will have the 10am and I will offer the 8am Mass.
Have a blessed Sunday!
