My dear friends,
What a powerful week we had in our parish from the Sacrament of Confirmation with so many parents and grandparents basking in the glow of seeing their children and grandchildren receive the Seven-Fold Gift of the Holy Spirit from Bishop Bonnici, to so many who met Jesus' Eucharistic and Real Presence in Procession through our communities and came to IHM to adore the Lord! We were blessed to have a reflection by the priest accompanying this route to Indianapolis, Father Roger Landry, Catholic Chaplain at Columbia University, who gave a moving reflection on the Immaculate Heart of Mary and Jesus' Eucharistic Presence. Know that there are two more days of the Procession in the Archdiocese of New York in Manhattan before the Procession crosses the Brooklyn Bridge to the neighboring diocese.
IHM will extend its hours of Eucharistic Adoration in the Marian Chapel on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 2pm starting this week. We are still looking for committed adorers on Mondays from 9-10am, 4-5pm, and 5-6pm. Click here to sign up.
Please pray for Deacon Vincent Castaldi and his classmates to be ordained to the priesthood by His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan, today at 9am at Saint Patrick's Cathedral in NYC. On Sunday, Father Vincent is scheduled to celebrate his First Mass of Thanksgiving at Sacred Heart Church in Dobbs Ferry, NY, at 2pm with a reception to follow. He invites all parishioners of IHM to both special Liturgies.

The Abbot was a couple of years behind my class in Rome and he became a priest for the Archdiocese of Seattle. After a number of years of fruitful priestly ministry as a pastor and a university chaplain, Father Qui-thac Nguyen felt the call to religious life and joined the Saint Martin's Benedictine Community in Washington State. Public Square Rosary Rally
You are invited to the 2024 Public Square Rosary Rally on Saturday, May 25th at 12:00 noon. It will take place in the North Parking lot of IHM Church (by the Grotto). This year as we pray Our Lady’s Rosary and other prayers in her honor, we invoke her blessings on marriage and the family and for PEACE in America and in the world. This Rally is one of 20,000 rosary rallies, organized by America Needs Fatima, that will take place all over the United States. Please make an effort to attend. Sunday, May 26th | Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity | Matthew 28:16-20
Friends, here is the curious thing about the Trinity: at one and the same time, it is the most extraordinary and the most ordinary of Christian doctrines, simultaneously the most inaccessible and the most obvious.
On the one hand, there is a highly developed, technical language regarding this great mystery. On the other hand, the most ordinary Catholic simply and regularly invokes the Trinity every time he crosses himself.
Our Gospel for Trinity Sunday is taken from the very end of Matthew’s Gospel. The risen and glorified Lord speaks to the new Israel of the Church, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” This is not an ordinary prophet speaking. This is the very Word of the Father, the very imprint of the Father’s being.
Jesus then tells them to go forth and to do the work of gathering in, of drawing people into the very dynamics of the divine life. Now, how all of this fits together theoretically is indeed a fascinating question, but we should never allow the arcane language of theology to obscure the revolutionary meaning of the Trinity: it is a summons to mission, a call to action.

IHM Welcomes the National Eucharistic Procession on May 23, 2024
The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage 2024 passed through the Archdiocese of New York on its 1,600 mile trip from New Haven, CT to Indianapolis, IN. It made stops at various parishes throughout the Archdiocese, including Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale, NY.
Msgr. Luke Sweeney, Pastor, received the Blessed Sacrament at Saint Pius X Church and carried it through the streets of Scarsdale, NY to IHM which hosted afternoon adoration. Fr. Roger Landry, who is traveling with the Blessed Sacrament on its journey, delivered a homily during adoration. The Pilgrimage is all part of the
National Eucharistic Revival which will culminate with the 10th National Eucharistic Congress, the first in 80 years, taking place in Indianapolis, IN in July.
The Daughters of Mary, Mother of Healing Love, an approved private Association of consecrated women in the Diocese of Manchester, New Hampshire, are accompanying the Blessed Sacrament. This is the link to their website.

Saturday Volleyball Clinic
IHM CYO Summer Volleyball Camp
IHM CYO is running a summer Volleyball camp for students in grades 4 to 8 who are parishioners of IHM and/or attend our IHM School.
- Session One will be held from July 22 to July 26 from 4PM to 7PM
- Session Two be held from July 29 to August 2 from 4PM to 7PM
The fee is $155 per session. A Tee shirt is included.
Our next Midnight Run is scheduled for June 8th. Many have answered our call for donations as they start their spring cleaning projects. Especially needed for these next Runs are men’s jeans from waist size 30-42 and all lengths. This is in addition to sneakers, sweatpants, hoodies, backpacks, shorts and T-shirts. All items should be gently used or better. Anyone who is interested in any aspect of Midnight Run—driving, sorting, food prep—please email ihmmidnightrun@gmail.com, thank you!
IHM Religious Education 2024-2025 Registration
To enroll in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Religious Education Program a Family must be a registered Parishioner of IHM Church before the start of the new school season. If you need to register with the Parish or inquire about your IHM Parish Registration/Envelope status, please call the IHM rectory or click here to register.
Online registration for the 2024-2025 school year for children in grades Kindergarten through 8th will open on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 12 noon. (We encourage parents to register children in Kindergarten, but this is optional.) IHM Religious Education student registration, including credit card payment, is completed online. Registration will be on a first-come-first-served basis.
Weekly Classes: In-person classes will be held once a week on Mondays or Wednesdays in the late afternoon or early evening. Specific days and times per age group will be announced before registration opens.
Student Fees for 2024-2025: Tuition for the 2024-2025 school year will be announced before registration opens.

Accessing services is less overwhelming when there is a caring professional providing support at each step of the way.
Through this free program, our warm and friendly connection specialist will work with isolated older adults to assess their needs and connect them to an array of community based services, including:
- Home-delivered meals
- Transportation
- Vaccine appointments
- Ongoing case-management programs
- Home-based medical services
- Telephone or in-person counseling
- Home care
- Social programming

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION AT IHM
- IHM High School of Religion (HSOR): HSOR welcomes all high school students to our gatherings Wednesdays from 7:30-9:00PM in the Lower Church (next meeting is this week). We offer a fun and relaxing faith community of service projects, Prayer & Pizza, Game Nights, sacraments, lively discussions and Open Gym. - IHM Centering Prayer Group: The group meets on Wednesdays at 10:00AM in the Church Library - last meeting before the summer break will be May 29th. Newcomers are always welcome. Meetings last around 45-60 minutes. The format includes: 20 minutes of Centering Prayer (a silent prayer form in the Christian contemplative tradition in which we seek to open our minds and hearts to the Divine Life within), Lectio Divina (a prayerful reading of Scripture) and a brief discussion. - IHM Women's Prayer Group: The Prayer Group holds weekly prayer gatherings for women Thursdays from 7:00-8:00PM in the Church Library. For more information, please contact the Rectory (914-723-0276 or ihmchurch@ihmscarsdale.org).
- Charismatic Morning of Renewal Meeting at the House of Prayer: This group meets on Thursdays after the 9:00AM parish Mass - Morning Prayer, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with Intercessory Prayer and a discussion of the Scripture Readings for the coming Sunday.
- IHM School of Community: this group meets on Wednesdays at 7:00PM in the IHM Rectory Conference Room to look at our daily life and discover who we are as Christians. The text discussed is "The Religious Sense" by Father Luigi Giussani. If you are interested in attending via Zoom, please contact the Rectory and ask to be put in contact with Carolyn of School of Community.
- IHM Bible Discussion Group: The IHM Bible Discussion Group meets every Tuesday night through mid-June from 7PM to 8:30PM in the IHM lower Church and are currently reading John's Gospel. Parishioners gather to read, analyze, and discuss Sacred Scripture while enjoying a little dessert and each other’s company. To make Bible Discussion more accessible at IHM and accommodate those unavailable on Tuesday night, there is a do-it-yourself-at-home option. - IHM Troop 2 (Boy Scouts): this group welcomes 5th through 8th grade boys interested in outdoor adventure. - Our parish will keep the name of a deceased parishioner or loved one for 2 weeks on our bulletin and Sunday Mass lists.
