My dear friends,
Don't forget our summer Sunday Mass schedule: 8, 10 and 12!
I invite you to incorporate the Rosary into your daily prayer this summer in spiritual union with our Lord Jesus and Blessed Mary. Be bold and pray it as a couple or as a family. Discover the gift of heavenly peace when you pray the Rosary.
Please join today's Rosary Rally at 11:30am in person or spiritually.
This week I will be taking advantage of some continuing education at a priest conference offered by the Saint Paul Center for Biblical Theology.

Please support our local Council of the Knights of Columbus as they solicit for their annual Charity and Benevolence raffle.
I have been asking for prayers for an ordination classmate of mine, Father Fidelis, CFR (Community of Friars of the Renewal), and both he and I are grateful for the prayerful solidarity. Many consider this Friar a heroic witness to the dignity of the unborn and of compassion in truth to their mothers in the face of "legal" abortion. Over the years, he has paid the price for his prophetic and bold witness by being sent to jail. He just finished a sentence in Michigan and now faces multiple sentencings in this region.
Below I have attached for your reading Fr. Fidelis' statement to the judge on Long Island before his most recent sentencing. Our Catholic Bishops in the USA hold that abortion is THE civil rights issue of our times given the nature of what it is, the staggering numbers involved and the harm in inflicts on women and others involved (information for healing and mercy is below). When reading my classmate's clear, bold and brave words to the judge, these words are steeped in our Catholic understanding of what disciples should do when human laws are in patent conflict with God's law. His words bring me back to the responses of early Christians to the governors of the Roman Empire commanding them to worship Caesar, and so many others who stood up to injustices throughout the ages. May Father Fidelis' witness and price he is paying lead us to prayerfully consider what we have done for Jesus in the unborn and their mother's in need, what we are doing for Jesus now and what will we do for Him in the future. Jesus is present in the least of our brothers and sisters and IHM is blessed with solid opportunities throughout the year to serve Jesus in His need. But when we live in such a State as New York that glories in the evil of abortion, a deeper personal reflection is warranted. While we may never have to render an account to a federal judge in this life, each of us can be sure that we will not have that luxury at the Last Judgement.
Don't miss out on this Fall's Archdiocesan "Man Up New York: Men's Spirituality Conference" on Saturday, October 7th. Last year tickets sold out leaving only the virtual option available.
A blessed Sunday to you!
