My dear friends,
A blessed Divine Mercy Sunday!
We have at IHM an image of The Divine Mercy in the church near the statues of the Blessed Mother and Saint Therese, as well as a relic of Saint Faustina (who received the apparitions from our Lord) in the Marian Chapel.
Please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity of grace this Second Sunday of Easter for special divine grace for our souls and perhaps learn more about the devotion of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.
2:30pm Confessions and 3-4pm Eucharistic Holy Hour!
Speaking of the generous Mercy of God, IHM gives thanks and praise to God for the gift of Mai Felicity, Matthew Louis and Ilean Benedicta, who became full members of the Church through the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil!
They will now unpack the divine life they have received in the Sacramental Mysteries of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist during this Easter Season - a period that is referred to as "Mystagogia"!
To Ray and Brenda Mechmann our RCIA/OCIA Coordinators, thank you!
To Mike Farrell who assists them in this wonderful process, thank you!
Please take note of the invitation from His Eminence Cardinal Dolan to parents who have lost children of any age to join him for Sunday Mass at the Cathedral on April 23rd.
More information is below.
To so many of you who have already made a donation or pledged a gift to the 2023 Annual Cardinal's Stewardship Appeal - Thank you!
For those still considering, I invite you to join us to be part of this archdiocesan act of charity to our neighbors.
We welcome back to campus this week both IHM School and our IHM Religious Education Program after Holy Week and Easter Week breaks! Time will speed by, particularly for those receiving First Holy Communion the beginning of May and those preparing for Confirmation with Bishop Bonnici the end of May!
This week I will be away representing the alumni of the Pontifical North American College at the "Rector's Dinner" in Rome. Last year I was elected Executive Secretary of the Alumni Association. I plan to be back in time for next weekend!
The Easter Octave concludes Sunday - a blessed time of Alleluia in the Lord!
