A joyous and glorious Easter of the Lord Jesus' Resurrection to you!
The Scripture selections and the Liturgies of this past week are so amazingly rich, please take time to return again to them in the next days and weeks to delve deeper into those places that struck your heart so as to grow in deeper awe, love and wonder of our Heavenly Father and Jesus through such graced moments!
Congratulations to our three Catechumens (the Elect), who are to receive all the Sacraments of Initiation this evening at the Easter Vigil (Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist)! God bless you and your families!
Thank you to Ray and Brenda Mechmann, our parish Order of Christian Initiation Coordinators, assisted by Mike Farrell, who meet each week with those entering the Catholic Church or those Catholics completing their initiation.

Enjoy this Day with Jesus and your families and loved ones! Remember that each day this week is part of the Easter Octave and next Sunday we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday! An afternoon Holy Hour, as usual, will be offered.

In Memory of Father Richard Pereira
Father Richard Pereira served at IHM for many years during the summer until he took ill with a heart issue.
The day Father became priest, he gave Holy Communion to Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

2023 Parish Council Nominations
Nominations for 4 members of the Parish Council are being accepted. Any registered member of the parish, at least 18 years old, is eligible to run for the Council.
The Parish Council serves an important advisory role in the Church to the Pastor on the life of the Parish. Council members are afforded an opportunity to be informed of the current scope of all that goes on at IHM as well as encouraged to bring various perspectives, experiences, and suggestions forward for consideration.

We are looking for nominations of people from a broad spectrum of our Parish life who seek to be involved in the various goings on of the Parish, to build up our IHM community, and to contribute to the mission that Jesus has given us. Please give some consideration for yourself or someone you know who would make a good candidate to run for elections and, if elected, serve up to 3 years.
Parish Council members commit themselves to attend approximately 8 meetings a year typically held on the third Monday of the month at 7:15PM in the Church rectory. Council members will also be expected to take a leadership role in the various Parish Council events as well as in the particular area of Parish life they are interested in or involved in already.

Friends, our Easter Gospel is John’s startlingly concise account of the Resurrection.
The Easter declaration, properly understood, has always been and still is an explosion, an earthquake, a revolution. For the Easter faith—on clear display from the earliest days of the Christian movement—is that Jesus of Nazareth, a first-century Jew from the northern reaches of the Promised Land, who had been brutally put to death by the Roman authorities, is alive again through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Once we’ve come to some clarity about the Resurrection claim itself, we can begin to see why it still matters so massively. If the Resurrection is only a bland symbol or a projection of our desires, then tyrants have nothing to fear from it. But if it is a fact of history, an act of the living God in space and time, then sinners have real cause to repent.
A second great implication of the Resurrection is that heaven and earth are coming together. The hope of ancient Israel was not a jailbreak, not an escape from this world, but precisely the unification of heaven and earth in a great marriage. Recall a central line from the prayer that Jesus bequeathed to his Church: “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” The bodily Resurrection of Jesus—“the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep”—is the powerful sign that the two orders are in fact coming together.

We can become so familiar with the story of Christianity that we lose the shock and awe of this day. Jesus, bodily present, is raised from the dead. Not merely resuscitated, but transformed in a beautifully transfigured body! He has defeated death!
This is the "Good News" that compelled the earliest disciples to get over their fear and go to the ends of the earth, proclaiming "Jesus Christ is Lord!" This is the meaning of the glorious celebration of today, this feast of Easter Sunday, and why the world has never been the same since the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The children from the IHM Religious Education Program enjoyed a Holy Week event complete with arts and crafts, a story and movie about Holy Week, and ended the afternoon with an Easter egg hunt! Fun was had by all! It was wonderful to see the strong interest and questions the children had regarding our Lord’s crucifixion and Resurrection! May God bless them always!

The Midnight Run Team is extremely grateful for the generosity shown by parishioners, IHM school children, and the IHM school of Religion over the past few weeks. Thanks to you, our Run Saturday night, April 1st, was very successful. All of our backpacks, many of our hoodies, sweatpants, and sneakers were distributed. In addition, many toiletries were gratefully received by people who desperately need
them.
Midnight Run welcomes donations all through the year especially as seasons change. There are collection boxes at all entrances of the Church and donations can also be given to the rectory.

- HSOR: IHM High School teens in grades 9 through 12 will gather again after Easter Week. HSOR is "a night out in the middle of the week!" Some of our activities are: prayers and pizza, scavenger hunt, faith on film, basketball and more!
- Bible Discussion Group: on the Gospel of Matthew: Tuesdays from 7:00 - 8:30 PM in the lower church. Refreshments served. The group is discussing the Gospel According to St. Matthew. If you have any questions, please call Tom & Rosemary Roche at (914) 725-1148.
- Charismatic Prayer Meeting at the House of Prayer: On Mondays at 7:30PM in the Chapel & Thursdays of Prayer after the 9:00AM parish Mass.
- College Evenings: HOPE Community Services received almost 40 Easter Baskets on Holy Thursday prepared by the IHM College group. Thank you to all who donated to this beautiful act of charity! - The Centering Prayer Group meets on Wednesday's at 10:00AM in the Church Library. Newcomers are always welcome. Meetings last around 45-60 minutes. The format includes: 20 minutes of Centering Prayer (a silent prayer form in the Christian contemplative tradition in which we seek to open our minds and hearts to the Divine Life within), Lectio Divina (a prayerful reading of Scripture) and a brief discussion. - Boys 11 to 17 are invited to Join Immaculate Heart of Mary Boy Scout Troop 2 Scarsdale. Visit Boy Scout Troop 2 in the IHM lower Church (201 Boulevard, Scarsdale) on Thursday evenings at 7:30PM. Do you want to canoe, camp, go white water rafting, rock climb, repel . . . all while using life skills like first aid and CPR? Then come try us out! To any of our parishioners that are homebound or elderly, please reach out to the Rectory if you are interested in having a priest from the Church visit to hear Confession, receive an Anointing for healing and then to receive Jesus in the Eucharist. HOLY COMMUNION FOR THOSE
WITH GLUTEN SENSITIVITIES
For any who have sensitivities to Gluten, know that Low Gluten hosts (containing less than 0.002% gluten, <20ppm, fully in accord with Church Canon Law) are available for receiving our Lord in Holy Communion. For those unable to have any gluten, we are happy to offer Holy Communion from a separate Chalice. Please speak with a priest before Mass.
Beginning Experience: Healing Weekend
Beginning Experience of the Hudson Valley is inviting men and women of all ages who have suffered the loss of a spousal relationship to a Healing Weekend, an overnight weekend retreat held at St. Lawrence Retreat Center in Beacon NY from April 21st to 23rd. Couples of the Archdiocese of New York celebrating 50 years of marriage anytime during 2023 are invited to attend the Golden Jubilee Wedding Mass at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral on Sunday, June 4th, at 2:30PM. The Mass will be celebrated by His Eminence, Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan. Each couple may bring up to four (4) additional guests. Couples will be notified if the seating capacity changes and more tickets become available.

- Office of the Chief of Police - Chief Joseph RodriguezChief Rodriguez is a graduate of Eastchester High School. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Iona College. He joined the Eastchester Police Department in 2002, was promoted to Sergeant in 2009, to Lieutenant in 2018, to Executive Officer in 2020, and in 2022 he was promoted to Chief of the Eastchester Police Department. He had previously served as a K-9 handler as well as a member of the Department's Emergency Response Unit.
- He is a member of the following organizations: New York State Association of Chiefs of Police, International Association of Chiefs of Police, Westchester County Association of Chiefs of Police, Law Enforcement Executive Development Association, Pipes and Drums of the Police Emerald Society of Westchester County.
