A blessed and and happy feast of our parish – the Solemnity of the Immaculate Heart of Mary! Come join us this eve at the Vigil or at tomorrow’s Sunday Masses where we will have special readings and prayers for the Blessed Mother and then a Procession to her outside statue. Refreshments will follow, but tonight - Saturday evening - we will have a barbecue with bounce houses for the kids!
At this Sunday’s 12:00 noon Mass there will be a Rite of Acceptance for Matthew as part of his RCIA preparation to be Baptized in the future!

Following on yesterday evening’s e-mail, please join us in a Eucharistic Holy Hour this morning, Saturday, June 25th, from 9-10am in the church, praying in gratitude for the Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade, praying for Mercy on our country where over 63 million abortions have legally occurred since 1973, and also begging for the grace to create in our society a true culture of life supporting both women and unborn human life.
Here at IHM we witness to our commitment to both the unborn child and to the mother/father in a crisis pregnancy, by our prayer vigils at Planned Parenthood in White Plains and in our Baby Bottle Drive for expectant mothers in crisis pregnancies, and when we collect our annual Baby Shower Donations and when we prayerfully, and with charity for all, form the October Life Chain on Post Road.
Our New York State Catholic Bishops have a well-said response to the Supreme Court's ruling, but they also indicate the continued work that is ahead for us in our State, where abortion today remains fully legal throughout pregnancy.

We had a good last meeting with them and our new members, followed by a reception to say thank you. I look forward to your continued presence and support of IHM in different ways, now with the experience of having served.
The Archdiocese wisely calls for a Lay Support Group to be established for seminarians on Pastoral Year. Vincent Castaldi’s group helped welcome him last August and has met with him each month to be a sounding board for him and to offer him their perspectives on future priestly ministry.
I would like to thank those that served this year: Natalie diTargiani, Diana Casey, John Roche, Daniella Ashman, Kelly and Luke Connelly, and Chris Pelella, including those who served for Carlos Germosen last year: Ryan Spicer, Jared DiPalma and Tracy Keelin. Know that both Vincent and Carlos very much appreciated your commitment, presence, feedback and support. For that I am grateful!
Save the date: Sunday, July 10th at the 12:00 noon Mass, where IHM will formally thank Vincent Castaldi for his presence and apostolic work this Pastoral Year and wish him well as he returns to the seminary for theological studies in preparation for the priesthood! Refreshments will be served in the lower church after the 12 noon Mass. Vincent’s last day in the parish will be Saturday, July 16.
This Tuesday morning, June 28th, I look forward to giving a reflection and spending time with the members of our Saint Veronica’s Guild. They are an organization of the parish that has a rich tradition and a long 100 year+ history. Their members are incredibly dedicated women who generously and graciously see to the seasonal appropriateness and beauty of our Sanctuary on a weekly and, often daily basis. This gathering is long in coming after all we have been through. Please pray for the Guild Members and consider becoming a member yourself!
As we seek Eucharistic renewal in our Church, consider coming for a daily visit to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, be it in formal chapel exposition or in from of Jesus hidden in the church's tabernacle.

This week, since our parish will be celebrating the Solemnity of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, please follow along with the readings using the below pamphlet.
June is the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This reminds us of the centrality of the commandment to “love” symbolized by the “heart”. We also know that true love is not always peaches and cream but many times, entails sacrifice. Jesus showed us this in a very powerful way when he suffered and died for us, stretched out his arms and proclaimed “I love you this much”. The summer offers us many opportunities to express and grow in love: family get-together, vacations, Father’s Day, Grandparents Day, World Day of Prayer for the Poor, & Fourth of July (love of country) just to name a few. Spend some time thinking and praying how you can grow in “love” in word, in action, in service. God bless you!

What does the Immaculate Heart of Mary mean?
The Immaculate Heart of Mary signifies, first of all, the great purity and love of the heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary for God. This purity is manifested in her “Yes” to the Father at the Incarnation, Her love for, and cooperation with, the Incarnate Son in His redemptive mission, and her docility to the Holy Spirit, enabling her to remain free of the stain of personal sin throughout her life. Mary’s Immaculate Heart, therefore, points us to her profound interior life, where she experienced both joys and sorrows, yet remained faithful, as we, too, are called to do. In 2022, we celebrate the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on June 25.

Did you know that IHM Religious Education Program begins in Kindergarten?
Just as your child begins their educational journey in Kindergarten, IHM invites you to begin their journey in the faith at the same time. Immaculate Heart of Mary Religious Education offers classes to support your home faith learning starting in Kindergarten and continuing through eighth grade.
Our Kindergarten teachers provide a loving and nurturing classroom setting. The Kindergarten curriculum focuses on the basic beliefs of our religion: an introduction to God, the Church, Jesus, and what it means to be a part of God’s family. They will also learn prayers and respect for life and each other.

IHM MUSICAL THEATER PROGRAM
SUMMER 2022
IHM will be hosting a Musical Theater program this summer in our School Auditorium and Lower Church Hall. The 9-day program is open to children entering grades 3 to 8 in the Fall.
The program will be run by Lizzie Connelly, a graduate of IHM school and a current College student. Lizzie has years of experience in theater productions and as a children's camp counselor, but most of all she has the energy and passion to make this a fun and engaging program for your children.

Summers are difficult times for groups to commit to going on Runs - we may be the only Run out on the 9th - so it's wonderful that this team is able to put one (or two) together over the summer. Thanks!
We're in decent shape for supplies, although our inventory of men's pants and sneakers are due for a replenishing. If you're looking for a way to support, check your closets or take a run over to a Goodwill Store or Walmart and drop donations of men's jeans/pants at the rectory.
The next Run after this will likely be late summer. Give some thought to drives you might be able to willing/able to do to replenish our inventories for the fall and winter runs. It won't be too long before we're thinking of hoodies and warmer clothes again. Socks, underwear, sneakers and (always) pants.

The Mall Walk at The Westchester Returns
The Mall Walking Club meets every Tuesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at The Westchester in White Plains. It’s a great way to enjoy the benefits of walking, no matter what the weather outdoors.
To join, sign up at the horse fountain on retail level 2 (located between Crate & Barrel and Urban Outfitters) on Tuesday and Friday mornings during the program.

- HSOR: IHM High School teens will gather next in September. Enjoy your summer and see you at Sunday Mass! HSOR is "a night out in the middle of the week!" Some of our activities are: prayers and pizza, scavenger hunt, faith on film, basketball and more!
- Bible Discussion Group on the Gospel of Luke: Please feel free to join the discussion on Tuesdays at 7:30 PM in the lower church.

For the past 30 years The RDC Center for Counseling & Human Development, located at 52 N Broadway, White Plains, has offered affordable counseling with a spirit of compassion and welcome. - The Vigil for Life, a Morning of Prayer for America will be held on Monday, July 4th, at the Marian Shrine located at 174 Filors Lane, Stony Point, NY. The day begins at 10:00am with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and at 11:15am the recitation of the Rosary. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be at 12:00pm and the celebrant will be Bishop Peter Byrne. Confessions will be available during the morning. For more information call (845) 429-2077.
- St. Vincent’s Hospital (275 North Street, Harrison) -Westchester Crisis Team to receive calls to new 988 Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Members of the St. Vincent’s Crisis Prevention and Response Team will respond to Westchester County calls to the new 988 Suicide Prevention Lifeline. The crisis team currently is receiving calls from Westchester County to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and is adding staff and volunteers to ensure 24/7 coverage when the new system begins this summer. The crisis team also participates in Westchester County’s 911 diversion program which identifies and diverts 911 callers who are experiencing a mental health crisis to the Crisis Team for help. The Team is seeking volunteers for the Suicide Prevention Lifeline of Westchester. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, with a high school diploma or GED, and be able to commit to at least one 4-hour shift at the St. Vincent’s Harrison campus. Extensive initial and on-going training and supervision is provided. Spanish-speaking candidates are welcome. The 988 change is expected to happen this summer.
