NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN
Nominations to replace 4 members of the Parish Council are now underway. Any registered member of the parish, at least 18 years old, is eligible to run for the Council. We are also seeking 2 teen representatives for the Parish Council.
The Parish Council serves as a consultative body of the parish whose responsibility is to advise and assist the pastor in matters relating to the temporal and spiritual wellbeing of the parish. This includes promoting lay participation in the activities of the parish, evaluating the goals and needs of the parish, developing and recommending ways to address those needs, and finally developing and maintaining a two-way communication between the Council and the larger Parish community.
Council members must commit to meeting approximately 10 times during the school year. Meetings typically take place on the 3rd Monday of the month at 7:00 PM. Please use the nomination form below for inquiries OR to submit a nomination request.

The migration of our 250 online contributors to a new and improved WeShare 2.0 was completed on April 20th. If you are an existing online contributor, expect a different look and feel when you sign in to manage your donations. The receipt emails will also have new look. The new system is easier to use and has some new exciting new features that will be announced very soon! Use the button below to access the new system. Thank you for your continued support of IHM!

Divine Mercy Sunday
Today, on the 2nd weekend of the Easter Season, we celebrate "Divine Mercy Sunday."
Today's devotion comes from Sister Maria Faustina, who was a young, uneducated nun in a convent in Poland during the 1930s. She had only three years of simple education, however, she received extraordinary revelations—messages from our Lord Jesus. She recorded these experiences, which she compiled into notebooks. These notebooks are known today as the "Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska," and the words contained urge us all to repent and be assured of God's unwavering and gratuitous Divine Mercy.

Sony Pictures released the film, Father Stu, on April 13th.
Father Stuart Long's dramatic conversation to Christ before becoming a priest led many people to Christ and the Catholic Faith. His courageous witness left a special legacy in the Diocese of Helena (Montana).
Viewers should be warned that the film contains objectionable language, violence, and adult content. However, it's the hope of the Diocese of Helena that the redemptive story of Fr. Stu's conversion will invite viewers to faith and strengthen believers.
Bishop George Thomas, who ordained Father Stu to the priesthood and Bishop Austin Vetter, the current Bishop of Helena agreed; Father Stu - raw and unfiltered, combative and grace-filled, witnesses to the truth that no one is ever beyond the reach of redemption.
ST. MARK THE EVANGELIST, PRAY FOR US

Who was St. Mark?
Mark was a disciple of Simon Peter and wrote the Gospel based on Peter's preaching from Rome. He was a Jewish Christian and a cousin of Barnabas (Col. 4:10). Mark went on to establish the church in Alexandria, Egypt, becoming the first bishop of that city.
Mark wrote to persecuted Christians. The Roman emperor Nero scapegoated the Christians and tortured them. Mark wrote his Gospel in such a way that this new Church would be given hope and imitate the courageous witness of Christ.
Mark's Gospel is presently believed to be the first Gospel historically written and is the shortest of the four. One of his favorite words is euthys ("immediately"), found throughout the Gospel of Mark and showcasing the urgency and action of Jesus' mission. Mark's writing reminds us that Jesus is with us in suffering and never abandons us!

She is recognized today as a "Doctor of the Church," the only layperson to receive the title. She had a passion for "waking people up" to the love of God which is the only source of true freedom. Catherine knew the terrible bondage of sin and counseled many men and women through their dysfunction and turmoil. She urged anyone who would listen to embrace the radiant love God was offering to every man and woman up and down the ages!

The Golden Jubilee Mass is for couples celebrating 50 years of marriage during 2022. All those who wish to attend should register through our parish secretary, Joanne Tormey, at 914-723-0276.
Pews will be reserved for Golden Jubilee couples only. Up to four additional family and friends will be accommodated in pews outside of the reserved section in general seating. All Golden Jubilee couples will receive a commemorative certificate. Couples who are unable to attend the Mass can request a certificate through the Parish Office.
Registration will close on Monday, May 16th at 5:00PM.

SAFE ENVIRONMENT PROGRAM
The Bishops’ Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People requires that all personnel in Archdiocesan programs who have regular contact with children and young people must receive training in the detection, prevention, and reporting of child abuse. The Safe Environment Program provides workshops entitled Protecting God’s Children each month throughout the Archdiocese. Information and training can be found on the Safe Environment tab.
