Pope Francis is always reminding us Catholics that we are a Church on Mission. Witnessing to our Faith and bringing others to the Love and Mercy of Jesus through the Church is essential to this sacred Commission by Jesus.
This Tuesday evening, October 5th at 7:30, will be a significant return for our parish as we offer an Information Session on the Rite of Christian Initiation, the process by which people join the Catholic Church or by which adult Catholics come to complete their Sacramental Initiation into our Spiritual Life. Please see the flier immediately below for more information.
Allow me to express a tremendous word of gratitude to Michael Farrell! Ever since Sr. Pauline Cinguini, SC, died over 5 years years ago, Mike has been the interim Coordinator for the RCIA Process at our parish, ably assisted by Lynne White, awaiting the Pastor to appoint a successor.
Mike and Lynne's enthusiasm and commitment to this process of grace is passionate. Over the summer Mike has been assisting me with the transition to our newly appointed Coordinators of RCIA for IHM, Ray and Brenda Mechmann, who have generously accepted my invitation to lead this important ministry in our parish!
Fresh from an Archdiocesan training day and Introduction to the Catechumenate last month, Ray and Brenda will be assisted in this parish endeavor by our seminarian, Vincent Castaldi, who helped run the RCIA at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., during the 2020-21 academic year. We are grateful to God for his providential presence this year at IHM.
Please pray for our RCIA team and for those whom the Lord Jesus is inviting into deeper conversion at this time!
Have a blessed Sunday!
