Happy Easter!
We rejoice with the whole Church as we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead, conscious that His Passion and Rising to New Life offers us the possibility of salvation and eternal life!
As part of our Easter Vigil Liturgy, we bless the Baptismal Font, renew our Baptismal promises and bless new Easter Holy Water. 500 Holy Water Bottles will be blessed at the Easter Vigil for as many households as possible to take one this special weekend. After a year plus of having empty Holy Water fonts at the doors of our churches, it will be a powerful blessing to have this new Holy Water in your homes. May it remind all of us of our sacramental union with Christ through our own Baptisms.
I have been intrigued how our IHM Baptismal Font has moved over the years. Before its present location, it was in the Baptistry right next to the written Creed. It was a great location when only a few family members would attend Baptisms shortly after the birth of a baby. Prior to the additions of 1949, the font was located near the beautiful stained glass window of Jesus being baptized by John in the vestibule of the church for all to pass by as they entered the Carman Road front door of the church.
All this consideration of Baptism has gotten me to wonder who is longest-time living parishioner presently at IHM. We will start at the year 1933 and go back earlier. Please let the Rectory know by the end of April if you happen to be a parishioner since 1933! We can then announce who that person is in May!
Have a glorious celebration of Easter this Sunday and for the whole week, as we Catholics celebrate for 8 Octave days of Easter!

HAPPY EASTER! On behalf of the faculty and staff of IHM’s Religious Education Program, we wish you all a very blessed and joyous Easter.
As we celebrate the feast of Our Lord’s Resurrection, each of us should be renewed in our faith and hope. When all seemed lost, Jesus rose from the tomb according to His promise. The Resurrection confirms for each of us that death and darkness could never be the final gestures of a God who loves us so deeply. Each of us has had an experience when the Cross has touched our lives, yet we believe that beyond the Cross is the reality of Resurrection; beyond Good Friday is the Glory of Easter. The story and message of Easter is not merely a recalling of the events in Our Lord’s life, it is our story of hope as well. It confirms that we who are joined in Baptism to the Paschal Mystery will one day share in the glory of the Risen Lord.

AT THE DOORS OF THE CHURCH!

PRAYER AGAINST CORONA VIRUS
Lord Jesus Christ, Our Divine Physician, we ask you to guard and protect us from Coronavirus COVID-19 and all serious illness.
For all that have died from it, have mercy;
for those that are ill now, bring healing.
For those searching for a remedy, enlighten them;
for medical caregivers helping the sick, strengthen and shield them.
For those working to contain the spread, grant them success;
for those afraid, grant peace.
May your precious blood be our defense and salvation.
By your grace, may you turn the evil of disease into
moments of consolation and hope.
May we always fear the contagion of sin more than any illness.
We abandon ourselves to your infinite mercy.
Amen.
MASS ATTENDANCE SAFETY PROTOCOLS
As we seek to renew our practices to keep everyone safe, please remember to disinfect when you enter the church and wear masks properly covering your mouth and nose, particularly if you should cough or sneeze. Always feel free to excuse yourself if you need to or if you feel unsafe. For Easter Masses, please enter through the main doors of the church (unless handicap entrance is needed) and follow the directions of the ushers as we maximize space with social distancing. We encourage everyone to arrive 5-10 minutes before Mass so as to assist in smoothly seating all and to prevent your reserved seats from being given to others when Mass starts. After Mass, to avoid congregating, please exit by the closest door. Thank you for your attention to these reminders and to your understanding.
IHM DONATIONS
It was a year ago that all public celebration of Mass was cancelled throughout the Archdiocese due to COVID-19. The stewardship of the many parishioners who went out of their way to continue supporting IHM through the pandemic is greatly appreciated. Your contributions are critical to sustaining the Mission of Christ and His Church through the operations of our parish. Thank you for your continued Donations to IHM.
At this time, we are going to suspend publishing the weekly and annual comparison of donations in the Bulletin. This information is no longer comparable at this time due to the interruption in the Mass schedule caused by COVID.

Every two weeks the Archdiocese publishes our newspaper Catholic New York. We receive several copies of each issue and unfortunately many copies wind up being discarded. FEARLESS RETREAT DAY
Fearless Retreat Ministries will be hosting a Retreat Day in collaboration with the Archdiocese of NY Youth Ministry on April 10. The entire event will be held outside on the beautiful grounds of the Graymoor Retreat Center. Due to renovations at Graymoor, we will not be able to host it overnight. The day is open to all youth in 7th-12th grade, with the option for their families to join if they wish. We are happy to be able to offer talks from Fr.
