Happy 35th Anniversary of Priesthood, Fr. Thumma!
Please join me in giving thanks to our Heavenly Father for the 35 years of Priesthood of Fr. Thumma, especially here at IHM!
Father will celebrate the 6:45am Mass Thursday, March 11th.
Ad multos annos - To many more years!
We are just over the 50-yard line of Lent and this Sunday will be
- Rejoicing Sunday because we are more than halfway to Easter and our Salvation!
As we seek to enter into the Passion of our Lord Jesus these last few weeks, may I suggest 2 ways that may help?
A visit to the Cloisters in Northern Manhattan, just a short drive away, offers a unique pilgrimage through the various periods of the Middle Ages, a time when Jesus Christ and the Mysteries of His Saving Life were central in art. You will find much to meditate on as well as beautiful vistas overlooking the Hudson River.
It is also a nice walk from the
St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Shrine
down the road on the other side of a park.
The second proposal for deepening our communion with the Passion of Christ is a more modern-day Calvary. Along with the parish's Pro-Life Committee, I will offer Mass at 7:00am on Saturday, March 20th, before we head to a prayerful Vigil and Witness to Life with my classmate (in 2001 we were ordained priests at St. Pat's Cathedral together!):
Fr. Fidelis Moschinski, CFR
Where: Planned Parenthood (175 Tarrytown Rd, White Plains, NY)
When: Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 8:00AM
"We seek to join the Blessed Mother and St. John at the foot of the Cross, the modern-day Calvary at the abortion mills, where the image of Christ among us today is being crucified." - Msgr. Philip Reilly
Please consider joining us or praying in solidarity for reparation and conversion of hearts.
Have a wonderful day!
