My dear friends,
As has been previously announced, our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has called for a Year of Saint Joseph in 2021 by his Apostolic Letter PATRIS CORDE (With a Father's Heart). Joseph is Patron Saint of husbands and fathers, the Universal Church, unborn children, immigrants, workers, employment, explorers, pilgrims, travelers, carpenters, realtors, against doubt and hesitation, and of a happy death.
To enter more deeply into this special invitation by the Vicar of Christ, IHM will invoke the intercession and protection of Saint Joseph upon our parish and upon your families in both a Novena of Sunday Masses (nine weekends from January 16/17 until March 13/14) and 9 weekdays from March 10th to March 18th to prepare for the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary. At the end of the Intercessions, the priest will conclude with this prayer from the Pope's Letter:

UPDATE ON FR. THOMAS LYNCH
Both the family of Fr. Lynch and his parish, Holy Name of Jesus-Saint Gregory the Great, have notified IHM that Fr. Lynch came through surgery. Praise God! Please keep up your prayers that the good work the surgical team accomplished may help restore Father to full health.
DAY OF PRAYER FOR LEGAL PROTECTION OF UNBORN CHILDREN
Friday, January 22nd, is the tragic Anniversary of the 1973 Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision in the United States. In response, the US Bishops have set this date aside for Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children. Let's make it an important day of prayer and fasting in reparation for the harm done, for healing of those scarred from the evil of abortion, for changes in hearts and laws and for openness to God's Mercy. Friday morning's IHM Eucharistic Adoration on January 22nd from 9:30-10:30, including the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet, will be offered for these intentions.
Also on Friday, January 22 at 4:00PM at Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe, the Keogh Council of the Knight of Columbus is sponsoring a Mass for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children.

CHANGE IN MASS SCHEDULE
Effective Saturday, January 2, 2021 we will combine the 8am and 9am Masses on Saturday and Holidays. Moving forward there will be one Mass in the morning. Saturday morning Masses and Holiday Masses will be celebrated at 8:30am.

Search Seeks Longest Married
Couple in Archdiocese
The archdiocesan Family Life Office is seeking entries in its annual Longest Married Couple Search for couples living in the Archdiocese of New York and married sacramentally for 65 years or more. Held in conjunction with World Marriage Day Feb. 14, in honor of the vocation of marriage and family life around the world, the longest married couple will be determined by how long a couple is married as of Feb. 14, 2021.

HOLY NAME SOCIETY'S ANNUAL RETREAT
The Holy Name Society (HNS) chapters of IHM, Annunciation & Our Lady of Fatima are organizing their Annual Retreat. Mr. Damian Wach, President of Our Lady of Fatima's HNS, has provided the following information for those men who wish to participate:
The Retreat will be held on Saturday, Feb.27, from 9AM until 12:30PM as a Virtual Retreat on ZOOM. The theme will be, "The Supremacy of Christ in the Midst of Spiritual Warfare." Msgr. Brennan, who had served at IHM a number of years ago, will once again be the Retreat guide & main speaker. Bill Winnis will also provide a talk on "Spiritual Warfare."

Lord Jesus Christ, Our Divine Physician,

Coronavirus COVID-19 and all serious illness.
For all that have died from it, have mercy;
for those that are ill now, bring healing.
For those searching for a remedy, enlighten them;
for medical caregivers helping the sick, strengthen and shield them.
For those working to contain the spread,
grant them success; for those afraid, grant peace.
May your precious blood be our defense and salvation.
By your grace, may you turn the evil of disease
into moments of consolation and hope.
May we always fear the contagion of sin more than any illness.
We abandon ourselves to your infinite mercy.
